The new Givenchy boutique in Seoul is located in the city shopping district, Cheongdam Dong; the boutique is realized in close collaboration with the artistic director of the Maison, Riccardo Tisci.
The store is housed in a building located in the thriving shopping district of Gangnam-Gu. The flagship store has an area of about 400 square meters on three floors, it leans from a smaller glazed body, that shows the interior of the boutique. The facade is a second embossed skin, evocation of the distinctive design style ‘T CUT’, that characterizes and emphasizes the identity of the Maison in the neighborhood.

The embossed metal sheet used for the surface of the façade, creates an effect that changes depending on the light and the surrounding landscape, the design is inspired by the Optical Art – the Italian art movements of the 60s: Lucio Fontana and Enrico Castellani above the others – as well as the processing techniques of fabrics used in recent collections.

In the interior the guidelines provided by the client, have been developed introducing the use of natural materials – in particular marble and basalt stone – new tipology of furnishings and new articulations of space: it creates a new environment that enhances the character of Givenchy.
