The first house built in the area was in 1932. In the zeitgeist of his time, the concept of separation of functions derived internal organization, and this made the house feel small. The basic framework of the house was designed with a long roof with protruding eaves.

BaksvanWengerden designed the plan to maximize the area and include several functionalities. The open floor extends to the lush green garden which gives a beautiful feel of Nature and openness. The new staircase constructed acts like a spine uniting all the functions within the house. The extension exhibits an entity of contrasts as well as a connection. It is an abstract materialization and particularly emphasizes this ambiguity with detailing.
