Bean Buro has completed the 37,000-square-foot Singapore office for Anglo-Eastern, one of the world’s leading ship management companies. Expanding on the design language first established at the company’s Hong Kong headquarters, the new workplace builds a spatial narrative around maritime heritage while responding to Singapore’s light and climate. The design incorporates flowing circulation, sculptural furniture, and a restrained palette of navy blue, white, warm timber, and burgundy. Reception and pantry areas emphasize openness, natural light, and views toward the sea, while bespoke ceiling textures and wall-mounted ship bells evoke nautical atmospheres. Collaborative zones are interwoven with focused work areas, ensuring balance between engagement and concentration. With local execution by LFA Studio and project management by Colliers, the office expresses Anglo-Eastern’s global identity while offering region-specific nuance.

The Anglo-Eastern Singapore office is conceived as both a continuation and a progression of the design narrative Bean Buro first explored in the company’s Hong Kong headquarters. Where Hong Kong established a foundation of strength and elegance, Singapore extends this identity with greater sensitivity to place, drawing from the city-state’s maritime legacy and tropical light conditions.

The conceptual anchor for the project is the sea itself, treated not as a literal motif but as a poetic reference point. Curved detailing, reminiscent of ship hulls, informs the bespoke joinery and sculptural furniture, while rivet-like elements are abstracted into subtle patterns across the interior. These interventions balance precision with craftsmanship, grounding the space in a sense of permanence.

The spatial arrangement reflects Anglo-Eastern’s emphasis on agility and collaboration. The reception introduces visitors to a light-filled sculptural environment, establishing a welcoming atmosphere before the workspace unfolds into open-plan areas punctuated by collaborative islands. A social pantry, positioned to capture sea views, reinforces a connection to both nature and community, transforming routine moments into shared experiences.

Material choices deepen the maritime dialogue. A disciplined palette of navy and white recalls naval uniforms and ship exteriors, tempered with timber tones that soften the formality. Burgundy accents add warmth, while metallic ceiling features textured like rippling water bring a sensory layer to the design. Acoustic partitions, biophilic details, and breathable textures further support comfort and wellbeing, underscoring the workplace’s commitment to its users.

Delivered across borders through close collaboration between Hong Kong and Singapore teams, the project demonstrates the adaptability of a strong design language. Maritime photography, sculptural details, and the quiet resonance of ship bells integrate cultural symbolism with contemporary workplace needs, ensuring the office is as evocative as it is functional. The result is a refined environment that affirms Anglo-Eastern’s identity while embracing the fluidity of global practice.
