ARCA Wynwood Design Center, designed by Esrawe Studio and completed in 2020, reimagines retail spaces by blending architecture, art, and education in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood. Its neutral interiors highlight curated collections of materials such as marble, wood, ceramics, and porcelain, fostering an interactive sensory experience for designers and clients. The center serves as a hub for artistic and design innovation, integrating material exploration with functional retail and collaborative engagement.

The building’s striking facade, created by Danish art collective SUPERFLEX, transforms Esrawe Studio’s tile design into a vibrant installation titled “Like a Force of Nature.” This artwork examines the relationship between economic systems and natural patterns, employing Hector Esrawe’s ceramic tiles and Fibonacci sequence as key elements.

The dynamic exterior contrasts sharply with the subdued interiors, emphasizing ARCA’s diverse collection of natural and technological materials.

Hector Esrawe describes the interior as a neutral space to shift the focus onto the material collections. The design center operates like a museum, presenting materials as unique natural artifacts.

The concept extends beyond retail, fostering a cultural understanding of design and architecture while offering an interactive and sensory experience with ARCA’s products.

Upon entering the center, visitors are greeted with videos showcasing ARCA’s quarries and material processing. The ground floor features a double-height stone gallery with large marble slabs sourced globally, each available for purchase. An indoor crane allows customers to select specific pieces. This immersive setting blends functionality with aesthetic appreciation.

The second floor takes visitors through the evolution of materials, including spaces dedicated to natural and manufactured wood, ceramics, tiles, and porcelain. These curated environments provide inspiration for architects and designers, facilitating collaboration with clients and exploration of ARCA’s offerings.

The dual-purpose design of ARCA Wynwood combines experiential learning with material purchasing, redefining traditional retail spaces while emphasizing the convergence of art, architecture, and cultural dialogue.
