Ca na Baldu i en Diego single-family home renovation designed by Atzur arquitectura in the Sarrià – Sant Gervasi district at the foot of Tibidabo has unified the various volumes of the original structure and improved the spatial organization by addressing the previously excessive compartmentalization and poor dimensions of the rooms. The project has enhanced natural light and ventilation, allowing for diverse and flexible uses while preserving traces of the original building.

The project consists of renovating a single-family home situated at the foot of Tibidabo in the Sarrià – Sant Gervasi district.

The original construction consists essentially of an aggregation of volumes with varying characteristics and unequal heights. The proposal seeks to unify these volumes, utilizing the richness and diversity of the existing structure through a precise and detailed structural approach.

In terms of layout, the original state features highly compartmentalized spaces with dimensions unsuitable for their intended functions. Furthermore, this excessive compartmentalization results in rooms that lack adequate lighting and ventilation.

The project aims to create spaces that maximize natural light and ventilation, enabling diverse and flexible uses. Moreover, the design preserves traces of the pre-existing structure throughout the intervention.
