Rising above the meeting of Carretera de Motril and Avenida de la Ciencia, the Caja Granada Savings Bank asserts a commanding presence on the city’s contemporary skyline. In a region defined by centuries of architectural opulence, Campo Baeza’s building distinguishes itself through restraint rather than ornamentation. Conceived as an austere cube resting on an artificial platform, the project embodies the architect’s fascination with elemental geometry and absolute order. Its clean lines and measured proportions evoke both the precision of modernism and the contemplative stillness of ancient monuments.

The exterior of the building communicates strength and enclosure. The reinforced concrete grid, visible on the southern façade, forms a brise-soleil that shields the offices from direct sunlight while establishing a disciplined architectural rhythm. Every element of the structure adheres to a three-meter module, producing an unwavering sense of unity across façades and interior spaces alike. In this rational framework, the act of repetition becomes a form of beauty, revealing the architect’s belief in the expressive potential of order.
