John Hardy Boutique in Mambal, Bali, designed by Blanco Studio and crafted by Kalpa Taru, combines modern design with heritage craftsmanship to showcase John Hardy’s jewelry. Inspired by the bamboo structure and rice paddy forms, the interior integrates with the surrounding woods. The reception hall and jewelry gallery feature floating vitrines, desks, and lamps above wooden layers. Kalpa Taru crafted showcases with central columns doubling as drawers, with built-in lighting highlighting the jewelry while eliminating visual clutter.

The interior design of John Hardy’s workshop in Mambal, Bali, designed by Blanco Studio and crafted by Kalpa Taru, seamlessly combines modern design with heritage craftsmanship, enhancing the display of John Hardy’s jewelry collection within the bamboo structure.

With the original architecture inspired by the textures, shapes, and heights of rice paddies, Conchita Blanco envisioned the interior design as emerging naturally from the density of the surrounding woods, becoming an integral part of the building itself.

The collaboration between Blanco Studio and Kalpa Taru focuses on two key areas within the workshop: the reception hall and the jewelry gallery in the main building. Above the wooden layers, vitrines, showcases, couches, desks, and lamps appear to float seamlessly.

The showcases, crafted by Kalpa Taru, are supported by central wooden columns that double as drawers, allowing the countertops to extend outward into the air. Furthermore, each vitrine and showcase is equipped with built-in lighting, thoughtfully designed to highlight the jewelry by separating it from the background and eliminating visual distractions from cables, which are intentionally absent.
