The Living Objects stool by Belgian design studio Vormen is a four-legged steel stool with a thin sheet steel seat welded to tubular legs, combining elegance and practicality. When stacked, the stools form a compact sculptural display. A slightly curved seat enhances ergonomic support while adding what Vormen calls a “poetic allure.” Part of the Living Objects collection, the stool comes in three colors or a galvanized finish with a unique patina. Designed for indoor and outdoor use, the collection also includes a matching bench.
Both tubular and sheet steel were used in the design and construction of this four-legged stool, created by the Belgian design studio Vormen. Designed for both elegance and functionality, the Living Objects stool has a thin sheet steel seat welded to four sturdy tubular legs.
The design creates a striking visual effect, especially when the stools are stacked, forming a compact yet sculptural display. A slight curve in the seat enhances the design, which Vormen describes as having “a sense of poetic allure”, suggesting the presence of a seated person while providing optimal ergonomic support.
Part of the Living Objects collection, the stool is offered in three colors or a galvanized finish, where the steel is coated with a thin layer of zinc. This galvanization process forms a patina, ensuring each stool is unique. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, the design is complemented by a matching bench in the brand’s catalog.
