The Rock Capital Headquarters in Warsaw aims to redefine the concept of a modern office by blending corporate functionality with artistic presence. Occupying 460 square meters on the first floor of the Metropolitan building, the interior offers both discretion and prestige within the city center. A calm palette of muted tones and textured surfaces establishes a serene backdrop for vibrant, site-specific artworks by Łukasz Stokowski, which give the office its distinctive character. The building’s recognizable arches find resonance in the interior through curved partitions, built-ins, and furniture that create a dialogue between exterior architecture and interior space. Departing from tradition, the design eschews a reception desk, instead presenting a welcoming social zone centered on a mirrored ceiling and a sculptural column. With custom furnishings, art installations, and carefully integrated lighting, the project creates an environment where business activities unfold within a setting akin to a gallery.

Rock Capital Headquarters in Warsaw reflects the ambition to create a workplace that is both practical and expressive. The design frames corporate life within an environment where art is not merely displayed but woven into the identity of the space, setting a precedent for how an office can also function as a cultural statement.

The location within the Metropolitan building provides a balance between centrality and privacy, qualities that guided the spatial approach. The architecture of the building, known for its graceful arches, informed interior gestures that repeat in curved glazing, bespoke furniture, and structural details. These motifs soften the rigor of a corporate interior, offering a visual rhythm that links the office to its architectural setting. Light finishes and transparent partitions maximize openness, ensuring brightness and continuity despite the first-floor position.

The art program plays a central role in shaping the atmosphere and meaning. Large-scale works by Łukasz Stokowski bring energy and depth to the restrained palette, transforming walls into focal points and positioning art as integral rather than ornamental. Meeting rooms named after influential artists further embed this cultural dimension into the daily life of the office. Complementing these works, a polished steel installation by Oskar Zięta introduces a reflective interplay that expands spatial perception while maintaining coherence with mirrored elements at the entrance.

Instead of a reception desk, the headquarters welcomes visitors with a lounge-like entrance where informal seating, soft lighting, and a sculptural column create a hospitable first impression. This zone transitions into a kitchen area, emphasizing the role of shared spaces in supporting dialogue and collaboration. Custom elements, from the solid wood island base to the sintered stone conference table, demonstrate precision in material selection and execution, underscoring the project’s emphasis on crafted detail.

  1. I thoroughly enjoyed the piece and the inspired architecture of the Rock Capital headquarters. One question – on the conversion of the space’s area size (listed at the top of the article), I calculate 460 m to be 1,509 feet. I didn’t have access to the footnotes (2), so maybe there’s a clarification there

    Keep up the good work,
    Tom
