The Pages Residence by Sommet, located in a gated community near Santa Cruz, overlooks a green area, offering open views. The design follows a 120×120 cm modular system that shapes the layout, circulation, and interior-exterior relationship while embracing the land’s irregularity. The construction features two horizontal planes supported by inverted beams, screen walls, and a BubbleDeck slab system, with a striking 6.5-meter cantilever at the entrance and garage, disrupting the structural regularity. A minimalist palette of concrete, wood, and glass creates a tranquil atmosphere, while large cantilevers provide shade and emphasize the seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.

The Pages Residence is situated within a gated community on the outskirts of Santa Cruz. The property overlooks a green area within the community, providing unobstructed views from the house.

The project was conceived using a 120×120 cm modular system, which defines the dimensions of each space within the house, as well as the circulation and the connection between interior and exterior elements. The design adopts a straightforward and minimalist approach, embracing the irregularity of the terrain to create a unique and expressive formal identity for the house.

The final form of the project is a direct and almost literal reflection of its construction system. It consists of two horizontal planes supported by inverted beams, screen walls, and a bidirectional lightened slab incorporating a BubbleDeck system, establishing a sense of material uniformity throughout the interior and exterior of the house. However, this perceived regularity is intentionally disrupted at the entrance and garage by a striking 6.5-meter cantilever, achieved through the use of inverted beams supporting the slab, adding a dynamic element to the otherwise consistent design.

The project incorporates a restrained selection of materials, including concrete, wood, and glass, creating a cohesive and serene atmosphere throughout the house. Careful attention is given to orientation, with large cantilevers extending toward the green area to offer unobstructed views while shielding the interior from direct sunlight. The horizontal planes dominate the visual identity of the design, emphasizing the seamless connection between interior and exterior spaces that define the residence.
