Triangular Pavilion, a nursery and civic space designed by Enrico Dusi Studio in Cavallino Treporti, Italy, has expanded the public architecture of the Venetian lagoon with a multifunctional facility that serves both educational and community purposes. Developed in collaboration with IBZ engineering, the project upgrades the existing nursery through a newly constructed reinforced concrete volume that connects to the original building via a shared entrance passage. The 120 square-meter hall, with an interior height ranging from 3 to 5 meters, accommodates diverse programs and supports independent use during off-hours. A 7-meter window opens the space to the surrounding landscape. The pavilion’s geometric clarity and repeated triangular form give the structure a distinct architectural identity, enabling visual continuity with its setting while maintaining formal autonomy.

The newly completed nursery pavilion in Cavallino Treporti, situated in the Venetian lagoon, was designed by Enrico Dusi Studio in collaboration with the engineering firm IBZ. The project introduces a multifunctional architectural solution addressing two primary needs. It expands the nursery by adding a spacious, dynamic, and innovative room for children’s activities, while also serving as a flexible civic space for the Cavallino Treporti community, accommodating a variety of events and gatherings.

The pavilion is connected to the existing building through a passageway that functions as the new entrance to the nursery and is designed to allow independent use during extracurricular activities. Built using exposed reinforced concrete, it contains a 120 square-meter multipurpose hall with an interior height varying between 3 and 5 meters, contributing to a sense of openness and natural brightness.

A large 7-meter window frames the surrounding landscape and links the exterior portico with the interior space. During exhibitions by local artists or special events, the window can be shaded using a curtain system. Moreover, natural light from above is introduced through a triangular shed roof, providing zenithal illumination.

On the exterior, the pavilion is defined by its regular geometry and repeated triangular form, which give the volume a distinct and independent character. This design strategy enhances the pavilion’s visual identity while fostering a balanced relationship with the surrounding landscape and nearby structures. It integrates cohesively into the environmental context while maintaining a clearly recognizable architectural presence.
